Potion Playground, 2023
A collaborative piece with Sarah Tsao Stories In Motion, Musuem of Moving Image, NY Feb 2023
Potion Playground is an interactive art piece that invites players to explore the magical world of potion-making. Using conductive cut-outs of ingredients that connect to an Adruino, players select three ingredients to create their own unique potions. The Adruino feeds data to Touchdesigner, which reacts to the players' choices and creates dynamic visuals. The experience culminates with the players waving their wands to mix the ingredients, with the movement reflected in the projection. Through this interactive process, players are presented with the potion they have created, while also being reminded of the consequences of choosing immoral ingredients. Overall, Potion Playground is a playful and engaging exploration of magic, technology, and morality.

As a contributor to this piece, I undertook several key responsibilities. I designed and created the cut-outs, representing different bubbling ingredients in the witch's pot, as well as the wand visuals and interactive features. Additionally, I was responsible for coding the triggers that enabled the seamless transition to subsequent scenes on TouchDesigner. As part of this process, I developed an initial TouchDesigner file, complete with a range of nodes that could be easily linked to the Adruino by my partner. By executing these tasks with precision and expertise, I played a critical role in the successful realization of the piece.
